This 5-day package mainly highlights gorilla trekking and wildlife viewing in Volcanoes National Park and Akagera National Park respectively.

You will go gorilla trekking first and then head to Akagera for a wildlife experience.

If lucky, you will get to see all the big five game animals.

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Our tour guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze on the first day of your 5-day gorillas and wildlife safari.

The drive is approximately 2 hours and very scenic.

When you arrive, you will check in to your safari lodge for an overnight stay.

  • Driving Time: 2 Hours

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

On the second day of your 5-day Rwanda gorillas and wildlife safari, you will meet the gorillas in their natural habitat.

Wake up early in the morning and head to the park headquarters for a briefing before proceeding into the jungles to search for gorillas.

Your trek can last between 2 to 8 hours, depending on how long it takes to locate the gorillas.

This duration includes a one-hour encounter with the mountain gorillas.

Afterward, return to your lodge and participate in an afternoon Rwanda cultural experience at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Center.

Day 3: Transfer to Akagera National Park

On the third day, make your way to Akagera National Park in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. Akagera National Park is the largest Rwandan national park and shelters most of its wildlife.

Here, you can find the big five game animals in Rwanda.

Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema where you will see animals like crocodiles, hippopotamuses, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and more.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive

On the fourth day, embark on a full day game drive, spending most of your time in the northern sector of the park.

The northern sector of Akagera National Park has the highest concentration of wildlife, and you will enjoy your time here.

Some of the animals you are likely to see include Giraffes, Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Impalas, Warthogs, and more.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali and Departure
