Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Maasai Mara Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda and optional activities

Get prepared to undertake an adventure of lifetime. On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be transferred to the beautiful Hotel in Kampala. This will be on the outskirts of the City to avoid the noise and on getting there, check-in and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 2: Drive to the phenomenal Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, in south-western Uganda

After a delicious breakfast at the Hotel, check-out and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by a private and comfortable vehicle.

About 540 kilometers/8-9 hours’ drive away, Bwindi Impenetrable is a stunning gorilla trekking destination in the south-western part of the country. On reaching there, spend the evening at leisure but lunch will be en-route.

Day 3: Trekking Mountain gorillas and Batwa Cultural experience

Today, venture into the impenetrable Bwindi Forest to search for mountain gorillas. However, first have breakfast and converge at the Park Headquarters for briefing on the dos and don’ts of trekking mountain gorillas.

Hire a porter (at will and your own expense) then follow the lead of the guide who will offer important facts on the history of the Park, different encountered animals and birds before finally finding the mountain gorillas.

After spending the allotted one hour with gorillas, return back to the Lodge for relaxation and late lunch.

In the evening embark on a leisurely walk through Batwa communities and you will be rewarded with an outstanding experience while watching them perform their cultural dances, make bamboo cups, exhibit their hunting skills and many others.

Day 4: Road transfer back to Entebbe

Today we depart Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and return back to Entebbe Town. This 8-9 hours’ journey comes with en-route lunch and several stops for stretching, photography and buying souvenirs.

On arrival, transfer to the Hotel and check-in where we spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Flight from Entebbe International Airport to Nairobi City or Masai Mara National Reserve

Have breakfast and embark on a direct flight to Masai Mara National Reserve or to Nairobi City then continue to Masai Mara National Reserve by road.

On getting to the Reserve, undertake a game drive through its vast plains dotted by different animals such as elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, black rhinos, wildebeests, warthogs, yellow baboons, gazelles, leopards, bushbucks, lions, Defassa waterbucks, impalas and many others.

Drive towards Talek or Mara Rivers where you might see migrating wildebeests accompanied by Thompson’s gazelles, impalas and zebras.

This experience is common in July to October and you will be amazed by the River crossing. Settle for a hot meal and cold bathe at the booked Camp or Lodge.

Day 6: Full day Masai Mara excursion

The full day excursion involves exploring Masai Mara National Reserve in a hot air balloon safari (weather permitting) or walking safari to have a glance of different animals and birds that call this park home.

Expect to see wildebeests, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, zebras and impalas.

Return to the Lodge for Lunch and in the afternoon we embark on a game drive to see more of Masai Mara animals and birds.

Day 7: Half day game drive then connect to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

Breakfast will be served at the Lodge, leading you to the final game drive while exiting Masai Mara National Reserve. Continue to Nairobi with en-route lunch and be dropped at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
