Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Our tour guide will pick you up in Kigali and transfer you to Nyungwe Forest National Park in the southern province of Rwanda. You will have lunch en route and visit places like the ethnographic museum of Rwanda and the former presidential palace in Nyanza before climaxing your drive to Nyungwe Forest.

Driving Time: 6 Hours

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk

Wake up early in the morning and head to the forest to locate the chimpanzees before they wake up. Chimpanzees move at a very high pace when awake, so it’s better to find them before they are active.

In the afternoon, enjoy the magical Nyungwe Forest National Park canopy walk, a unique experience in Rwanda and East Africa.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Kivu

Today, transfer to Lake Kivu via the Congo Nile Divide Trail. Upon arrival, relax at the beaches and engage in water sports activities.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. In the afternoon, visit the mysterious Musanze Caves and then retire at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Wake up early in the morning and report to the park headquarters by 7:00 am for a briefing. Head into the jungles to search for mountain gorillas.

Spend one hour observing them and then return to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking certificates.

In the afternoon, experience a cultural visit at Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village and return to your lodge for overnight.
