7 days Bwindi Gorilla Circuit offers a complete gorilla trekking experiences across all the 4 major gorilla sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National park (BINP). It is an exceptional gorilla tour package taking you through 4 gorilla treks in the different sectors and you have a chance to also explore different habituated families of mountain gorillas in Bwindi.

The 7 days Bwindi Gorilla Circuit experiences begins from Nkuringo region, Rushaga, Ruhija and finally at Buhoma sector in the North.

Bwindi Quadruple Gorilla Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Nkuringo Sector in Bwindi forest

Have breakfast early leave Kampala or Kigali for Nkuringo sector in Bwindi and from Kampala it will be 8-9 hours’ drive. From Kigali, your Bwindi gorilla circuit tour takes 3-4 hours’ drive connecting via Kisoro border/Chanika or Katuna/Kabale border.

From Kampala, en-route visits on your 7 days Bwindi gorilla circuit include Equator crossing at Kayabwe and Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch along the Mbarara-Kabale/Kisoro route. Settle for dinner and a night stay upon early arrival at Nkuringo Region of Bwindi.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Nkuringo & drive to Rushaga

A hefty breakfast early morning and after, carry some snacks and enough bottled water for your long day gorilla trek-the first gorilla trekking experience of the 7 days Bwindi gorilla circuit tour.

Get briefed early at Nkuringo, the southern sector of Bwindi National Park and also be allocated to a habituated family of mountain gorillas – 3 gorilla groups exist here.

Nkuringo’s gorilla families to track include Nkuringo, Christmas and Bushaho but today, only 1 (one) of them will be trekked by you. Retreat after 2-6 hours of long day trek inclusive of one hour magical encounter, check out of the lodge and drive to Rushaga region.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Rushaga Sector), Bwindi

Rise up for a tasty cup of tea/coffee and after, leave the lodge for the 2nd gorilla trek as per your 7 days Bwindi Gorilla Circuit trip. Rushaga sector is also found in the southern side of Bwindi but houses the largest number of habituated families, about 9 of them and only one will be assigned to you on Bwindi gorilla circuit. Retire for the night at accommodation at Rushaga sector-Bwindi after the long day trek.

Day 4: Drive from Rushaga to Ruhija

After breakfast, leave Rushaga in the south for Ruhija sector in the East, Bwindi National Park. Ruhija is an incredible Eastern sector of Bwindi with 4 families already habituated and open for trekking; Mukiza, Oruzogo, Kyaguriro and Bitukura.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Ruhija Sector

Breakfast early morning and after, 5th day of the 7 days Bwindi Gorilla Circuit begins with briefing from Ruhija region. Leave Ruhija briefing point at 8:00am to look for mountain gorillas with park guide 2-6 hours and walk back after striking your eyes with the great apes during the 1 hour of face to face encounter. From Ruhija, drive to the North for relaxation at the lodge in Buhoma.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Buhoma & Batwa Community Visit

Enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea and after, assemble at Buhoma for your 4th gorilla trek of 7 days Bwindi Gorilla Circuit. In Buhoma sector, you will be assigned to Mubare, Habinyanja, Katwe or Rushegura group families. Spend 2-6 hours inclusive of 1 hour with mountain gorillas at Buhoma then return to briefing point to settle for a relaxed lunch. Have a relaxed evening at Buhoma region or complete the long day with Batwa visit (optional).

Day 7: Departure

Hefty breakfast and after, exit Bwindi from Buhoma for 8-9 hours’ drive to Kampala or 3-4 hours’ drive to Kigali-End of this 7 days Bwindi Gorilla Circuit.
