15 Days Uganda Kenya Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Welcome on your first day of the 15 days safari in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. You will be greeted and briefed by our company driver-guide, who will explain about Kidepo Valley National Park and Uganda.

Entebbe International Airport is where the adventure begins, as you drive through to Kampala with great views of the vast Lake Victoria.

In Kampala, the oldest and largest city in Uganda, depending on the time you’ll have lunch at Ndere entertainment center and a subsequent visit to Uganda Museum to uncover the historical and cultural treasures, before proceeding to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful nap.

Day 2: Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park

Set off for Kidepo Valley National Park after yummy breakfast meal at your hotel in Kampala. It is a 9-10 hours’ drive on both maram and tarmac roads, with great views of rolling hills, plantations, busy towns, and great buildings.

A flight takes roughly 1-2 hours, with great aerial view of the landscape below. The park is situated at the extreme end, north east of Uganda, neighboring South Sudan.

Have a stopover at Bomah hotel or similar in Gulu city for lunch, before proceeding to your lodge in the park for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Kidepo National Park; Game Drives

Wake up very early in the morning to watch numerous mammals grazing in the Narus valley and beautiful sunrise at the Apoka viewpoint.

Kidepo Valley National Park is one of the best gifted savanna parks in Africa offering an opportunity to encounters hunters and the prey grazing together, resting, or hunting.

Notable residents include; lions, herds of Buffaloes, waterbuck, Oribis, giraffes, zebras and warthogs.

Besides the mammals, also get interested in the captivating landscape, flora like the Bourassa trees and birds such as the ostrich.

Lunch will be served at noon, as you rest and wait for the night game drive in search of the nocturnal creatures.  At sunset, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a night of peaceful sleep.

Day 4: Birding and visit the Ik people

Birding is best done at sunrise, in the areas of Apoka rest camp, Namamukweny valley and the Lomej hills as you look out for the elusive ostriches, purple heron, ground hornbill, Abyssinian roller and many more.

The activity will run for about 2-3 hours. As the sunset starts scorching, You will return to the lodge for Breakfast, thereafter go for a thrilling cultural encounter with the Ik people; one of the oldest and Original Ugandans.

The Ik people are pastoralists, and part of the Karamoja people, but have a much more unique story and way of life. Upon visiting them, take part in the community tour, cultural dances, stories, and also taste the food.

Being pastoralists; their meal is practically made up of animal products such as beef, milk, and blood. The sunset drive to the lodge for dinner and a nap when the day is done

Day 5: Fly to Nairobi, Kenya

After a great stay in Africa’s true wilderness; Kidepo Valley National park, you will check out of the lodge after breakfast for a transfer to Entebbe International Airport.

On-road you will use approximately 9-10 hours while traversing amazing landscape and variety of plantations, with lunch stopover in Gulu city.

By fight it takes about 1-2 hours of having an aerial view of the captivating landscape to the Entebbe international airport, with lunch near Entebbe international airport.

Fly to Nairobi, Kenya to receive a great reception by our company representative who will gladly welcome and brief you about what Kenya has to offer.

Thereafter be driven to your hotel for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

At daybreak, have a relaxed breakfast meal at the hotel, and wait to be picked by an expert driver-guide who will brief you on the different issues regarding the trip, before embarking on a 5-6 hour drive to Masai Mara National Reserve.

Masai Mara is famous for its large population of predators, and other wildlife species.

Along the Journey, you will have a 30-minute stopover at the Great Rift Valley for photography, and another at Narok center for Lunch.

The drive from Narok to the park lasts for approximately 2 hours on a largely muram road. While having the drive your eyes are fed with a variety of plantations and breathtaking scenery.

You will arrive at your lodge at the park with a sunset game drive; check-in for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, spend the entire day across the plains of Masai reserve; in search of the prey and predators in their territory.

Begin a look out for the lions, leopards, cheetah, buffalos, rhinos, impalas, zebras, warthogs, wildebeests, and cape buffaloes; birds such as the flamingos, ostrich and primates.

Have a picnic lunch, and then spend the rest of the evening at the shores of the Mara River; taking photos, and spotting the hippos, crocodiles, and elephants.

Thereafter return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Bird watching and Sunset Game drive.

After breakfast, get to the park for a guided nature walk and birding experience in the designated birding sites.

With the guidance of an experienced birding expert, get to uncover excellent birdlife and a variety of species, including the immigrants.

These include; ostrich, flamingos, kingfisher, love birds, and so much more.

Follow the birding experience with a yummy lunch meal and relaxation as you wait for a sunset game drive in the evening.

At the cover of the night is when the odds of encountering the lions, hyenas, cheetahs, and leopards are high.

The 3-4 hour evening / night game drive offers the opportunity of listening to the sound of an owl; and rest of the residents, and return for dinner and a nap.

Day 9: Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

Wake up to a yummy breakfast meal, before checking out of the lodge for a transfer to Serengeti national park- home to one of the natural wonders in the world; the natural wildebeest migration.

At the Kenya Tanzania border post, your documents will be verified, before you proceed to have lunch, and enjoy a drive to our lodge in the park; for dinner and overnight.

You will have great views of the landscape, undulating hills, and breathtaking landscapes.

Day 10: Full Day Game Drive

At daybreak have breakfast, and then checkout for a rewarding game drive at the seronera and other parts of the park.

The game drive in these regions offers an encounter with the wildebeests, lions, leopards, waterbucks, cheetah, giraffes, impalas, hippos, wild dogs, and many more.

Serengeti national park has a variety of wildlife species, over 500 bird species, and a variety of predators in their different territories.

Have a bush lunch break; followed by some refreshment and a night game drive to spot some nocturnal birds and mammals such as the owls, and hyenas.

The day ends with dinner and comfortable slumber.

Day 11: Full day with the Masai warriors

Today; have a relaxed breakfast meal at the lodge, before visiting the Maasai worriers.

The Maasai culture is one of the dominant and most interesting cultures in the continent of Africa.

You will tour their community – the Manyattas; listen to the stories and enjoy the tasty meals.

A typical Maasai worrier will put on traditional attire, blended with pieces of jewelry and a stick.

The Maasai are pastoralists, who depend on cattle and its products for wealth and food. These people live outside the park.

In the evening you will return to the lodge with a night game drive for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater-Olduvai Gorge stopover

Start the day with a cup of coffee, and then set off for the Ngorongoro crater with a game drive. En-route you can visit the ancient Olduvai Gorge; a place where the fossils of the very first person (zingerthrupus) were discovered.

Spend about an hour before proceeding for lunch at your lodge overlooking the Ngorongoro crater. The evening will be for relaxing and a guided nature walk, as you wait for dinner and a nap at the end of the day.

Day 13: Full day game drive

After breakfast, get to the park with packed lunch for a full-day game drive in the vast Ngorongoro crater; looking out for the night hunters and day grazers rooming at their territories.

The prey and predators present at the park are not limited to; lions, rhinos, elephants, impalas, giraffes, cape Buffaloes, leopards and so much more; the ostriches, baboons, and olive monkeys.

Have a picnic lunch in the wild but then return to your lodge late in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight. Ngorongoro conservation area is an extension of Serengeti national park.

Day 14: Birding and Ngorongoro crater expedition

Brighten the day with a tasty breakfast meal, followed by a morning 3-hour bird watching experience.

There are over 500unique bird species recorded here; notably; the lesser flamingoes; flycatcher, kori bustard, crowned cranes, ostrich, black-kite, and the Livingstone Turaco.

Migrants can be found from November to April, so birders have it all.

Thereafter you will return to the lodge for refreshment and Lunch, before heading for top of the crater walk, and get endless opportunities of exploring one of the world’s largest caldera, watch the beautiful landscape, the Big 5 and other animal hideouts. When all is done, get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Departure

Start the day with relaxed breakfast meal at the lodge, and then checkout for a transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport.

The exit offers amazing views of the locals enjoying sunrise; the evident green vegetation, and variety of excellent sceneries. The driver-guide will drop you at the agreed point after lunch.
