As said previously, this 3 days Rwanda gorilla package will let you meet gorillas and visit Dian Fossey’s Grave. Dian Fossey is a lady who committed her life to fight for the conservation of mountain gorillas, a critically endangered species of primates that lives in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Her grave lies at Karisoke Research Center, a place she lived for years before her sudden murder in 1985. This can be a budget gorilla tour or luxury gorilla safari depending on your budget.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On this first day of your 3 days Rwanda gorilla tour, our tour guide will either pick you up from the airport or from within Kigali City and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. The drive is approximately 2 hours by road. When your reach, you will check in to your lodge and relax.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking and Iby’iwacu Cultural Village

This day is the highlight of your 3 days trip. Its the day you go gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Wake up early morning and head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a short briefing meeting before proceeding to the forest to search for gorillas. When you finally meet the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them and return to the park headquarters after for your respective gorilla tracking certificates.

In the afternoon you will go to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a blend of Rwandan culture. After this exceptional activity, you will return to your safari lodge for an overnight.

Day 3: Dian Fossey Grave Visit and Departure

Being the last day of your 3 days gorilla safari, this day you will visit Dian Fossey’s grave in between Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke and return to Kigali after to catch up with your flight back home. If your departure is late in the evening, you will carry out a city tour around Kigali.
