Detailed Kenya Honeymoon Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi honeymoon city tour
On this first day of the twelve days adventure, our driver-guide will meet and brief you about what will take place throughout the 12 days.
After briefing, you will tour Nairobi city, visit the city museum and other attractions around Nairobi city, before heading to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Nairobi City is one of the main cities in Kenya, with great historical sites, vibrant trade, magnificent buildings and so much more.
Day 2: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, checkout of the lodge and embark on a drive to Samburu reserve with amazing scenic views and a lunch stopover. You will look out for the rolling hills, breathtaking landscape and captivating vegetation.
Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon; rewarding you with a hefty lunch meal, before spending the evening at the lodge or having an evening guided nature walk, with a cool breeze and magnificent sunset. Dinner and overnight at sunset.
Day 3: Game drives and cultural adventure
Wake up to a yummy breakfast at the lodge and thereafter set off for an unforgettable 3-4 hour game drive experience at the park.
Samburu reserve has over 75 mammal species, birds, and a variety of primates.
A lucky game drive offers amazing sights and sounds of Grevy’s zebra, giraffes, impalas, olive baboons, beisa Oryx, elephants, Buffaloes, hippos, cheetah, leopards, and elephants among others.
The bird list includes; the Somali ostrich, Aardvark, African fish eagle, African grey hornbill, Africa harrier hawk, and the African open bill stork to mention but a few.
You will have a lunch break, followed by an evening cultural adventure with the Samburu people, who will entertain you with amazing dances, songs, and stories, to the time when you will return to your lodge for dinner and a nap.
Day 4: Samburu Game reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park
You will start the day with a Lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge, and then checkout for a transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park; a haven to a large concentration of pink flamingos, and several mammals.
The captivating drive offers an amazing view of rolling hills, plantations and the Great Rift Valley.
Arrive at the park for late lunch, followed by an evening birding experience at the shore of Lake Nakuru National Park. Vast part of the park is dominated by the lake.
You will arrive at Lake Nakuru in the evening; spend time having a guided nature walk, before calling it a day at the lodge with dinner and sleep.
Day 5: Game Drive and bird watching experience
At daybreak, enjoy a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge and go for a rewarding game drive on a land rich in prey and predators; namely, cheetahs, African elephants, cape Buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, wild dogs, waterbucks, Oribis, hippos and lions to mention but a few.
The game drive lasts for roughly 3-4 hours, followed by lunch.
After lunch, you will rest, before going for bird watching, at the Lake Nakuru lake shores, with a profusion of endemic and non-endemic bird species.
The notable birds include; the pink flamingos, Somali ostrich, golden pipit, Golden-breasted starling, white-headed mousebird, Donaldson’s smith sparrow-weaver, and rosy-patched bush-shrike.
At sunset return to the lodge for a peaceful dinner meal and overnight.
Day 6: Depart Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart the lodge for Masai Mara reserve; one of the top Savannah parks in Kenya. Masai Mara national park is an extension of the vast Serengeti national park in Tanzania.
You will have a rewarding drive for about 5-6 hours; with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley for photos.
Thereafter proceed with the drive to Narok Centre for lunch, before continuing to the park; with an amazing sunset game drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Full Day Game drive
After breakfast at sunrise, step out for a Full day game drive; with Lunch at the wild. You get to encounter the park dwellers in their Natural habitat; the predators and prey looking for survival.
For hours; you will seek to find the wildebeest, lions, cheetahs, jackals, cape Buffalos, Hippos, zebras, and warthogs; birds such as the flamingos, ostrich, lovebirds, the sitatunga and primates such as the olive baboons and monkeys and the captivating landscape.
The odds of spotting the cats such as the lions and leopards are low though they are present but elusive.
You will also explore the vast Mara River; an epic site, during the annual wildebeest migration; as over 1,000,000 wildebeests, accompanied by zebras, and gazelles through the Mara River from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania facing the hippos, crocodiles and the moving water for life.
Late in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 8: Bird watching and Cultural adventure with the native Masai people
Depart the lodge very early in the morning to catch up with variety of birds leaving their nests and several other places where they spent their night.
As the ears listen to the sweet melodies; you will identify the different species, notably; ostrich, flamingos, Abbott’s starling, eagles, Abyssian owl and the black headed-heron, to mention but a few.
It is when the heat gets intolerable that you will return to the lodge for late breakfast, followed by lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a traditional experience with the Masai warriors.
Clad in their traditional attire, they narrate amazing stories, dance and take visitors around their Manyattas. Dinner and overnight at sunset.
Day 9: Masai National Reserve to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, checkout of the lodge for a transfer to Amboseli National Park; a drive through the magnificent great escarpments, flourishing plantations and undulating hills.
You will have a stopover for lunch, before proceeding with a 2-3 hours’ drive to the park, on a marrum road marked by variety of plantations and homesteads.
Arrive and drive to your lodge, with chances of watching the mammals, birds and primates.
Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge or have a guided nature walk at the designated trails where you will spot the sunset at the summit of giant mountain Kilimanjaro and herds of elephants returning to their territories for a night. Go to bed after dinner.
Day 10: Full day game drive
Start your morning with scenic views of the sunrise in the backdrop of the snow-capped mountain Kilimanjaro – highest mountain in the continent of Africa.
Breakfast is served right on time, before picking packed lunch and other necessary equipment for a rewarding game drive viewing experience.
Positioned at the foot of the giant mountain Kilimanjaro, you not only get amazed by its beauty but also variety of mammals, birds, reptiles and mammals.
You have the chance of encountering a large herd of African elephants, Cape Buffalo, wild dogs, warthogs, zebras, and notable wildebeests among others. Relying on your excellent eyesight; more can be seen from near and afar.
Have a picnic lunch break within the park, and thereafter spend more than 3-4 hours game viewing to sunset. At the last everyone will be happy, and return to the lodge at nightfall for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Amboseli National park to Nairobi National Park
The day starts with yummy breakfast meal at the lodge, before checking out for a transfer to Nairobi National Park – along a scenic drive, traversing magnificent scenery, breathtaking landscapes and scattered homesteads.
You will have Lunch en route, and then arrive at the lodge late in the evening for a sunset game drive; where you stand a chance of spotting the nocturnal mammals notably the lions, leopards, and hyenas among others, a variety of Antelope species and Birds.
Thereafter return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Departure
You will Wake up for a relaxed breakfast meal at the Lodge, followed by a 3-4 hour game drive around the park.
Relatively small, Nairobi National Park is home to numerous lions, wildebeests, elephants and giraffes and so many others.
After the game drive, check out of the lodge for a transfer to Nairobi city, one of Kenya’s most beautiful cities located about 10km from the park.
You will have a city tour and lunch, before proceeding to the airport for your exit flight.
