Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Serengeti Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Volcanoes National Park Tour, 2 to 3 hours’ drive
Have an early breakfast and later pick up or upon arrival at Kigali Airport, receive a warm welcome to Rwanda – The Land of a Thousand Hills.
Briefing from your tour leader about the 6 days Rwanda gorillas & Serengeti safari, then have a short Kigali city tour before proceeding to Volcanoes National Park, northwestern Rwanda, a 2 to 3 hours’ drive.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking PNV and Iby’Iwacu Village Walk – Rwanda
Rise early for breakfast, and your day two of the 6 days Rwanda gorillas & Serengeti safari includes a briefing about gorilla trekking rules.
Afterwards, a gorilla family will be allocated to you during the 7:00am-8:00am briefing session, then get escorted by a guide for the actual trek lasting 2-6 hours.
Once you find your gorilla group, enjoy views of these dramatic creatures for one hour before trekking back to your lodge.
At the lodge, relax and later, visit Gorilla Guardians Village, a popular area to enjoy energetic Rwandese performances, unmatched cultural experiences, explore Rwandese traditions, lifestyles, etc.
Day 3: Volcanoes NP to Kigali Airport, Fly to Seronera Airstrip, Tanzania
Early morning breakfast and then check out of the lodge, drive back to Kigali Airport with a brief stop to visit the Twin Lakes of Burera & Ruhondo (optional).
From Kigali Airport, fly to Seronera Airstrip, Tanzania. From Seronera, it’s about a 1-hour drive to Serengeti NP. Check into your booked accommodation in Serengeti and later, enjoy a wonderful evening guided game drive in the scenic Serengeti Plains.
Day 4: Visit Serengeti National Park, Tanzania for Full Day Game Drive
After breakfast, leave your hotel/lodge for Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania to enjoy a full day game drive. In your comfortable 4WD car, navigate via the scenic Northern Safari Circuit, enjoy the endless plains of the countryside, and take pictures.
Enjoy great sights of big mammal species such as cheetahs, lions, impalas, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, leopards, rhinos, birds, and wildebeest in large numbers and later, have a picnic lunch.
Continue with an evening guided game viewing in Serengeti to see more mammals as they retire for the night, then return to the lodge.
Day 5: Head to Ngorongoro from Serengeti
Enjoy an early breakfast and then set off for a remarkable Ngorongoro Crater tour. Have a leisurely lunch on arrival and later, proceed to the crater for a great game encounter including lions, buffaloes, jackals, zebras, elands, wildebeest, hyenas, cheetahs, and birds. Stay at booked accommodation around Lake Eyasi.
Day 6: Boat Trip on Lake Eyasi & Departure
Early breakfast and then leave the lodge for a morning Lake Eyasi boat cruise, enjoy the sunrise over the lake. After, connect to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport for departure flight – End of the 6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Serengeti Wildlife Safari.
